Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

Quality has been the buzz word in present day educational development. The apex assessment and accreditation body for higher education: National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is giving spiral emphasis on quality and innovation. In view of need for quality the Mahavidyalaya has constituted an Internal Quality Assurance Cell.
Similarly separate IQAC has also been constituted for the Dept. of Teacher Education. The principal is the Chair person of these IQACs.
The general objectives of the IQACs are:
1.    To identify indicators of institutional quality improvement.
2.    To provide academic support and guidance services to the faculty members.
3.    To monitor teaching learning activities.
4.    To encourage organization of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
5.    To encourage and monitor organization of seminars, workshops, meetings, short-term orientations and capacity building programmes.
6.    To encourage and monitor innovative activities initiated by the faculty members and students.
7.    To encourage publication activities of the faculty members and students.
8.    To encourage collaboration, quality development and innovations.
9.    To encourage organization of Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Alumni and Students’ Councils for the sake of institutional quality.
10.    To disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional, research and extension facilities to students and faculty members for promotion of innovations leading to innovative teaching learning methods, development of integrated personality, studies in various disciplines, inter-disciplinary studies and understanding of  national and international unity.
11.    To act as a house of ideas and information in planning, organization, monitoring and evaluation activities.
12    To work for internal evaluation and prepare Self-Study Report (SSR).
13.    To prepare the departments/college for external evaluation.
14.    To perform necessary, desirable or incidental activities in furtherance of the above objectives.
