Great Vira Family

Source of inspiration Late Raja Jwala Prasad, the worthy father of the Great Vira Family was the Ist Chief Engineer during British Period. The Banarus Hindu University was  constructed under the direct supervision of Raja Jwala Prasad who had also become the  Pro-Vice Chancellor of  BHU. 
Late Rani Bhagyawati Devi, wife of Raja Jwala Prasad was the first educated woman of Manadawar Pragana and the mother of Vira Family. Her dream to bring women community to the door of higher education was the source of inspiration for the foundation of Rani Bhagyawati Devi, Post Graduate Mahila  Mahavidyalaya, in Bijnor  by her worthy sons Late Shri Dhrama Vira, ICS, Shri Kanti Vira  &  Kunwar Satya Vira  in  July 1971 with enrolment of 14 girl students on the beginning day.
Late Padma Vibhushan Shri Dharma Vira (ICS) was the Cabinet Secretary to the Govt. of India. He had been the Governor for three terms in the states like West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Shri Dharma Vira  was the Founder President of this Mahavidyalaya. His contribution  to the field of Administration and Education is unprecedented  and praise worthy.
Late Kunwar Satya Vira was the Former State Minister for Technology. He  endeavoured a lot to make this Mahavidyalaya, a model institution in women education and empowerment. He was the former Secretary  of this Mahavidyalaya.
Late Shri Indu Vira, the worthy son of a worthy father Padma Vibhushan Late Shri  Dharma Vira, also held the responsibility of the  President of this Mahavidyalaya. It is widely spoken that  this Mahavidyalaya, founded by Shri Dharma Vira, nurtured by  Kunwar Satya Vira  has achieved unprecedented  progress under the dynamic leadership of Late Shri Indu Vira. It  is his contribution which has made this Mahavidyalaya an advanced centre of women’s education in the state. It is his efforts that brought a quality culture in higher education imparted in  R.B.D. Mahila Mahavidyalaya, to its honour and pride.
The most significant contribution of Vira Family is the foundation of Vira Charitable Society. Under  the Chairmanship of Shri Ravi Vira, IAS, Retd. Dy. Governer, Reserve Bank of India, the Society is managing about nine educational institutions beginning from primary schools to the institutes of Higher Education & Technology including Rani Bhagyawati Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bijnor.
